  • Whether we have used second skin or cling film, it's best to keep the cover on for a minimum of 6 hours, as that is when you are most open to an infection. You can keep the second skin on for up to 72 hours.

  • No need to worry when you notice pools of liquid underneath the cover, this is just blood and excess ink, once you take it off and clean it will look good as new.

  • You can shower with second skin, and when it is off, but we recommend not bathing, swimming or using saunas for 2 weeks, as keeping the tattoo submerged will prevent it from healing as best it can.

  • When the cover is off, we recommend washing the tattoo twice a day for 2 weeks, no need to panic if you slowly start to forget, the first week is the most important, you want to treat the tattoo like a fresh wound.

  • When washing, use clean hands and gently massage the area with basic soap, no need to use expensive fragrant soaps, I recommend the most natural or sensitive soap that works for you.

  • In a few days you will want to start moisturising after you clean it, dab dry with a kitchen towel or air dry, and apply a small amount of moisturiser, again nothing too thick and nothing fancy, I personally recommend cocoa butter.

  • Don’t pick the scabs, try not to itch it, slapping helps!

  • Tattoos fading over the years is unavoidable, but if you show them a little love by using suncream when they’re out it will help fight that process

  • Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

  • Keep the tattoo covered and well sealed with plastic wrap for at least 2 hours. Tattoos will ooze, this is a normal part of the healing process. The dressing is there to keep airborne bacteria and any other contaminants in the environment from invading your wound.

  • Once at home, in a clean environment, wash your hands first, then clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and unscented soap. With the soap gently rub off all the goo that has formed under the plastic (plasma + sweat + ink). Rinse and pat dry with a clean non-fluffy towel or kitchen roll and over it immediately with a new plastic wrap/cling film.

  • DO NOT apply any moisturiser or any other creams for the first 24 hours.

  • Repeat the cleaning procedure in the morning and the following evening. ****After 24 hours you may leave the tattoo uncovered but keep washing the tattoo with unscented soap twice a day (morning and night). At this stage start to apply a gentle and fragrance free moisturiser after the tattoo has been washed and patted dry and leave unwrapped.

  • Follow this routine until your tattoo is healed. This normally takes between a week and a half to two weeks. During the healing process your tattoo may feel dry, tight and itchy. DO NOT pick or scratch the tattoo as this can cause infection and/or result in your tattoo healing badly.

  • DO NOT have the tattoo immersed in water for any length of time while it’s healing (a shower is fine)

  • DO NOT expose your tattoo directly to the sun or go on a sun bed until your tattoo appears to be fully healed. Ideally no exposure to sun/sun beds for 2-3 weeks.
